On Wed 14th of March, Author Wallace E.Briggs was invited to give a half an hour presentation about his recently published book, 'The Magical Adventures of Jimmy Crikey', to pupils at Rishton Methodist Primary School. After explaining where the idea of the story about Jimmy Crikey came from, Wallace gave a reading from the book - Chapter 1.
Wallace said "It was a great delight to hold the attention of a class of twenty-three children, aged around ten years, for half an hour. There was so much interest that the teacher promised they would read chapter 2 later that afternoon and I left school happy with my efforts. The delight grew even further when I received an email from Ms. Studholme advising that the children would be continuing to read chapter 3, today. They were so looking forward to meeting Matilda the witch who had forgotten how to laugh." Congratulations Wallace for your recent success, it certainly seems your book is a hit with the children! 🙂
Great Harwood Primary School - December 2017
It was a privilege to present my story to the remarkable children of Great Harwood Primary School. Despite the fear (I almost froze) of addressing an audience of almost 100 young people time telescoped and all too soon it was time to say goodbye, leaving too many of their questions unanswered.
St Charles Primary School Rishton Lancashire - May 2018
I had the pleasure to present 'The Magical Adventures of Jimmy Crikey' to two classes in one week. The response from the children of Classes 3 & 4 was very warming. The range of their probing questions at the end of the 45 minute presentation was surprising. These children were no walk over - they wanted to know all the details of who, where, why, how.
