This is my second visit to the boundless universe of Jimmy Crikey, and I remain captivated by the seamless integration of science fiction and fantasy in this series. The author offers enough context to refresh the reader’s memory without overwhelming them, and the narrative’s consistent pacing kept me engaged until the end. Among the colorful cast of characters, Jade, the apprentice witch, stood out as my favorite. I was delighted to read a book that intensely focused on her character development. Jade evolves into a stronger character, not only developing her individual courage but also building a solid foundation for teamwork with Jimmy. Despite encountering various obstacles, both protagonists find hope amid tragedy, leaving plenty of room for further adventures.
I thoroughly enjoyed my return journey into Jimmy Crikey’s enchanting universe, and this latest installment is nothing short of remarkable. I eagerly anticipate a resolution to Annison’s situation in a future volume of a courageous young girl spreading her wings. The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey: Jade, the Youngest Witch Ever by Wallace E. Briggs is an incredible tale of a brave young girl coming into her own. This latest addition to the Adventures of Jimmy Crikey series is a must-have for any library and perfect for those who love unique settings, tales of magic, and stories of girl power.

Another Jimmy Crikey corker from Wallace. E. Briggs, ‘Jade-the Youngest Ever Witch’ takes his readers back into a mysterious society beneath their own, and on into amazing worlds full of other-worldly creatures and strange happenings.
A fantastic introduction into the world of fantasy, the Jimmy Crikey series sees its protagonist overcoming barriers and working with his friends to solve climactic events, not only on the earth but in faraway lands and worlds. In this tale, we are re-introduced to Jade, a very young apprentice, who is eager to become a fully-fledged witch. Though a little impatient, she works hard to pass the tasks she must complete before that day arrives.
Briggs packs his story with cliffhangers, making it impossible to put down and super engaging to the imagination of his young audience. This book in particular is structurally strong, with all paths leading to resolution and a surprising culmination of Jade’s journey. Briggs teaches self-belief, cooperation and peaceful negotiation as our hero and heroine work tirelessly to keep the universe safe.
With plenty of scientific facts for young minds, Briggs cleverly uses the plot to imbed some complicated concepts, which engender a curiosity about how the world and its elements function. He writes with both genders in mind, with action-packed exciting scenes giving way to softer moments, such as the arrival of a new addition, baby Helios.
With all the great elements of a traditional fairy tale brought into the 21st Century, this tale offers both fantasy and realism, setting youthful minds alight while keeping their feet firmly planted on the terra firma of responsible human behaviour, empathy and respect for others.
A great story for fledgling readers, and a lovely addition to the collection, ‘Jade-The youngest ever Witch’ is unreservedly recommended.

The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey was a pleasure to read. From the first page, you are drawn into the world Wallace E Briggs has created. I was immediately engaged by the plot and eager to get to know the characters better. Wallace certainly has a talent for writing professional content. The story read with ease and I didn't lose focus on what was going on. There are so many different characters that you will grow to love during the time it takes to read the book. I liked that there are witches and aliens all working together as it felt unusual to me. The front cover sets you up for what you are about to read. I found it useful when trying to imagine what certain characters would look like. Jimmy was my favorite of them all and he is unique! I loved the story Wallace has written and I hope to read his next book. Keep up the good work and stay creative!

As the town of Roombelow expanded, they realized there was need for more houses and amenities to cater for the growing population. They couldn't get a suitable location to build a new amphitheater except by the hillside. Unfortunately for them, it was close to Matilda's coven, the most incredible witch Earth has ever known. The situation was no doubt going to put the two groups on collision course until the unexpected happened as Jimmy Crikey played a pivotal role in his adventures.
Characters in the book include witches Matilda, Jade, Ira, Elwinn, Floella, Mr McDonald, Amanda, Lord Oron, Madam Coptra, and Beatrix etc.
Jade was the youngest witch to be inducted into the Guardians of Earth's realms, but she has to successfully overcome enormous challenges on her way before she could graduate. Although Jade was the youngest witch Matilda had ever trained but she was destined for greatness. Could there really be good witches out to save humanity from natural disasters and other crises? This book tells a very exciting story about it all.

Jimmy Crikey is a young alien who lives with his friends on Earth in the magical land of Roombelow. One of his friends, Jade, is trained to be a witch by Matilda the leader of the Guardians. Jade must complete several trials before becoming a member of the Coven. Soon, Jimmy and Jade are called upon to help rid Lithnia of rock-chewing beatles that are caving in roofs. Also, the Sky Islands are being attacked by dangerous whirlwinds. Will Jade overcome the obstacles and become the youngest ever witch?
This book is full of excitement and adventure. Jimmy’s dynamic with his friends often mirrors my own childhood friendships. I like how we get to follow these characters as they change and grow and discover new things about their world. I would recommend this book for fans of Harry Potter and Avatar. The sci-fi and fantasy elements are sure to satisfy young minds but also the young at heart.

Jimmy and Jade make for an exciting duo. As Jade finishes the last of her witch training, to become the youngest witch ever, she must complete seven more trials on her own. Within each of these trials readers are promised an action-packed, intelligence needed, diagnostic and solution, making for an exciting read. In this, the fifth book in the series, Jimmy arguably has the most adventure and exploration of the realms yet, as Jade and Jimmy work to accomplish success.
What I so loved about the fourth book, “The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey: The Emerald Lake,” is ratcheted up seven levels in this novel, with more excitement, adventure, and fun. Perfect for readers of all ages as we learn problem solving and working together with a diverse cast of characters. In “The Adventures of Jimmy Crikey: Jade, the Youngest Ever Witch,” readers are given even more sightings of witches and guardians, from the introduction of new and old characters, Jade’s endeavors to complete her witch training are as fun as ever.
Author Wallace E. Briggs’ knack for creating vividly fun and fantastical scenes, to the emotions elicited by the characters and tests they face, make this my favorite Jimmy Crikey read yet. Reading entirely as a standalone but providing references to tie in the other four books, for those that may be following along in Jimmy’s adventures, this read is truly magical for all who crack its spine. What the author describes as having begun as a fun way to entertain his son and friends in poor weather is now being shared with the masses, and how fortunate are we to be invited to escape into the fantasy world of Jimmy and friends. Whether this is your first Jimmy adventure, or your fifth, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the second book in The Adventures of Jimmy Crickey series that I have had the pleasure of reading. The imagination of the author, William Briggs, is wonderful!!! For those who aren't familiar with Jimmy Crickey, the main character, he is an alien who has decided to make Earth his home. Particularly in the magical land of Roombelow.
Jimmy has befriended in earlier adventures the Four Guardian Witches of the Earth's realms. In this adventure the witch Matilda, the leader of the Guardians has taken on an apprentice named Jade who is close to finishing her apprenticeship. However she must complete a few tasks and they must be done on her own before she is introduced into the coven of sisters.
Jimmy and Jade go through quite a few situations with a multitude of characters and creatures. My personal favorite being a horde of rock eating scarab beetles who threaten an underground land. The adventures take Jimmy and Jade from the underground land to sky islands as well as leading them to an island in the arctic.
The author takes the reader on a journey way beyond the mind. There are a multitude of other characters as well, including another alien race trying to save their own planet. As well as Cleoptra who has given birth to one of the Guardian's son.
This book is an excellent read for children into their teens. Its exciting, has great morals to be learned about helping others and taking responsibility. It is completely full of fantasy and grabs your attention from the beginning to the end. A wonderful series!!!!

The author takes minds, young and older, into his own carefully crafted fantasy word. It's dialogue heavy, which is a good thing, as the character's come to life a little more. Sure to inspire the imagination. I can picture these books as a cartoon series on tv !
